Webinar for UTAR: Managing Personal Finance


The Department of Soft Skills Competency from University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Kampar campus organised a weekend of events based on essential skills for young adults. This event was attended by students of the campus and general public. Yuvarajan and Kimberly were invited to give a talk on managing personal finance.
By highlighting the significance of managing cashflow, Yuvarajan presented the essential principles of managing personal finances. He demonstrated methods and strategies for tracking cash flow. He also discussed youth’s fear of missing out (FOMO) when it comes to lifestyle and how it affects personal finances. He elaborated on the need of managing personal finances by balancing emotions and logic.
Kimberly stated that personal finance sounds difficult or complicated but she always strives to keep it simple. Personal finance is simple but not easy. Kimberly shows the student the different types of people when it comes to money management. They discuss their strengths and weaknesses in her session. By knowing what type they are, they can be more aware of tendencies that can potentially harm their finances.
